Privacy Policy
Pinpoint: Bluetooth Finder
Effective October 22, 2026 · Published by Pinpoint
Summary: the app does not collect any data. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDK. Everything the app records stays on your iPhone. We, the publisher, receive nothing from it.
What the app processes on your device
- Bluetooth advertisements from nearby devices (name, signal strength, maker code, service identifiers) to list them and estimate distance.
- Location, only if you allow it, to remember where a saved device was last heard and to measure how far you moved during a tracker check.
- Names, logs and settings you create in the app.
Network
The app makes no network requests of its own. Maps are drawn with Apple's MapKit; your device may request map tiles from Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never see these requests.
Permissions
- Bluetooth
- Required to scan for nearby devices.
- Location (While Using)
- Optional. Asked when you save a device or start a tracker check.
- Notifications
- Optional. Asked when you turn on the left-behind alert.
You can change any permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Retention and deletion
Data stays on your device until you delete it: forget a saved device (deletes its log), clear the heard list and custom names in Setup, or delete the app to remove everything. Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete or export.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
